Changed: the app replaces its own install on macOS and Linux
Updating a Mac used to end with Finder showing you a tarball next to the app you were running; on Linux the app opened a session and ran tar in it. Now, when Termuna is installed under your home directory (~/Applications/Termuna.app, ~/.local/bin/termuna), pressing Install in Settings, About downloads the release, checks it against the signed manifest as before, unpacks it beside the install, verifies the staged copy (on macOS the code signature and Gatekeeper's own assessment; on every platform that it answers the promised version), swaps it in atomically and relaunches. The About row says what is happening at each step, a build that fails a check is deleted and named there, and your running install is never touched before the new one has been proven. The old install stays beside the new one as .previous until the next launch. An install that is not yours to replace (/usr/bin, /opt, the system /Applications, a .deb) is handed to the OS exactly as before; Windows is unchanged.
Added: a DMG for the first install on a Mac
The release carries Termuna-<version>-arm64.dmg beside the tarball: open it, drag Termuna onto the Applications link next to it. The image is signed with Developer ID and notarized like the app inside it. Installed apps keep updating from the tarball.
